Subject: myTulane (Blackboard) Now Available To Faculty
Announcement:
Technology Services is proud to announce that myTulane is now available! You can access the site at
http://mytulane.blackboard.com
You can go to myTulane either by bookmarking this link in your favorite browser or by clicking on the myTulane button on the main Tulane web site.
The purpose of this message is to highlight several important new features and processes that we are implementing with the myTulane project: course auto-assignment, material storing and migration from the legacy system to myTulane, and opportunities for training.
Course Auto-Assignment
One of myTulane's hassle-reducing features is that you no longer need to request that your courses be created in Blackboard every semester. As soon as your department administrator associates you with your courses in the Student Information System, the courses will automatically be assigned to you in myTulane. This association has already been completed for 1,410 courses and you can now begin building your courses for the fall semester. If you do not see your courses listed in myTulane, please contact the administrative staff in your department or school to ensure that you have been associated with your course in the Student Information System.
Storing and Migrating Content
Once you have successfully logged into myTulane, you will notice several new tabs and features. Of particular importance is the myContent tab, which will allow you to store and link materials for use in your course environments now and in the future. As a result, you will not have to upload this material each time you teach your course. Unfortunately, it is not possible for you to move course materials directly from the old version of Blackboard to myTulane. You will need to download your materials from the old system for re-upload to myTulane. For more information on selecting content from the old system and importing content into the new system, click here.
