As telecommunications professionals, the uptown Telephony Services division is continually challenged to make decisions that improve existing services, and implement new technologies. Telephony Services is committed to providing new edge technology to the Tulane University community, and in the near future will begin testing a new system that will use Internet protocol to transmit information over the Ethernet network that was previously transmittable only via telephone.
Administrative Services
Technology Services Administrative Services is responsible for the
complex business processes that are so critical to the success of
Technology Services as a department. The day-to-day satisfaction of the
Administrative division's users depends on the division's ability to
communicate quickly, accurately and succinctly. This is done in the
division's new work environment, the electronic office. Automated
accounting, e-mail and other advanced technologies are revolutionizing the
way budgets are developed, financial data is calculated, and daily
business requests are processed.
Every day, an impressive
amount of business and social interaction takes place over the telephone
or in person in the Administrative Services offices. The Technology
Services Administrative arm is a vital link between the users of
technology and those who provide it.
